DMB Brawl 2013 Final Scores

The Best of Faction and the Big Four
Another year and another Brawl completed! Congratulations to all involved! Here are the final places, and the corrected final scores and places.

We had a really close run at Best Overall, which is really a fantastic way to finish the event. Best Sportsman was also fantastically close! Dave Phillips and Tim Doyle both brought home a very impressive sports score, and the tie breaker we use is Battle, which gave it to Dave. Mike Rusca's impressive Eldar army took Best Painted, with Mike Camin's intricately painted band of Dark Eldar pirates came a very close second. Dexter Wallis defeated all comers to earn the Best General award, and left with many teef on his necklace.

We had two data entry errors that were corrected with a full check after the event. Apologies to Pat and Brandon, who were incorrectly penalized for crimes they did not commit. The offending data entry servitor has been sent to his room with no supper. That'll teach him.

We sure had a blast putting this event on! Even Alex, who has sworn that any BBQ and after party shall be held at one of the local bars, and not his home. "I'm getting too old for this shit," he grumbled on Sunday morning. I hope to see you again next year, and if you have any feedback go ahead and email it to me. I'd appreciate it!

DMB Brawl 2013 packet, including rules, painting rubric and missions

Hello! Magnus here, to provide you with the link to this year's event packet.

Within this packet you'll find directions to the venue, a schedule, a list of local eateries we recommend, the missions, the paint score rubric we're using, and general rules for the event. If you have any questions regarding these rules, please contact Alex or myself, using the contact information on this website.

The missions are slightly different than what you may be used to. Read them over and feel free to ask us any questions you might have.

Each mission includes a sidebar listing the pre-game activities. Any objectives with pre-set locations are also laid out on the little diagram included. There are some new methods of placing objectives, and some new Secondary Objectives. Take FUBAR for example:

FUBAR has three total objectives. One is placed dead center on the board, and each player gets one objective that is placed in their Reserves, and will Deep Strike onto the board. The objective that you Deep Strike in is not Mysterious, but is chosen by you when it arrives from reserves.

The Secondary Objectives are different as well. While Slay the Warlord is still present, First Blood and Linebreaker are gone, switched out for Spite the Foe and Hold the Line. We hope you'll find these missions similar to the book missions, while being different enough to require some new strategies.

Thanks for reading,
